Well done guys, you've just recorded your first EP.
Those drums rocked, the bass thumped and the guitar sung.
It should have, you spent £000's on vintage gear.
You've got the look, you definately have the sound, YOU ROCK!!!!
Finally, it's all come together and its time to send out copies of the C.D. to various record companies, radio stations etc.
The C.D. case look a bit bare, you got a good logo, better get some pictures.
STOP!!!
This is where things start to go wrong.
Why pay out loads on great gear, loads on sound engineers and a recording studio,
then get a mate with a camera to take some photos of you.
Picture the scene, The A&R man from a record company, currently looking for new raw talent, has 2 C.D.s in his hands, Yours and another bands.
He doesn't know what you both sound like. The first thing he sees is the artwork on the sleeve.
The other band spent a little bit on a pro photographer, the images are rockin!
You got your mate from the pub to take your's, the images are, well, at best, poor!
He's going to put the other C.D. on first, damn, it looks better. He puts yours on the desk, where it slides under paperwork never to be seen, or heard again.
Letters are sent out, meetings made, and a record deal signed.
You really missed out!
It doesn't have to be this way. For a small investment, you can have professional quality photos added to your website, FB, MySpace or any other media site.
It makes sense. You've invested everywhere else, now it's time to invest in what counts, FIRST IMPRESSIONS.
Like they say, you dont get a second chance.
Just take a little time to think about it.
